Free Behringer UB-1 Micro Editor

https://www.behringer-ub1-micro-editor.co.uk/

I've made another free online midi editor, this time for the Behringer UB-1 micro synth.  My UB-1 was meant to have been delivered back in January, but it's unfortunately been delayed for months now.  Anyway, I used the manual to get all of the MIDI CC data, and remapped it all from my original JT4000m editor.  It's currently untested, but when my unit arrives, I'll confirm it's correctly working.

  1. Hi ! There is a problem with the "VCA Level" it maxes out at 7 when adjusted instead of 99 on the UB-1 Micro. I also noticed that if an adjustment is made with the unit controls the Editor doesn't follow changes.

    1. Thanks for the tip-off. I got the numbers from the Behringer manual:

      3 VCF ENV amount 0 - 99
      7 VCA Level 0 - 9
      8 VCA Mixer 0 - 99

...I'm guessing that maybe Behringer forgot to add the extra '9' for the VCA level!?

Unfortunately I never received my UB-1 unit (6 months late!), so I can't really check for errors. However, I've updated the code for this though, so hopefully that should be working correctly now. let me know if not.

As for the problem with the hardware not updating the software, I'll have to wait until I receive my unit to see if it can be implemented. Of the 5 Behringer midi editors I've built, only one sends the needed data (the JT Mini).

    2. Yes, excellent ! the VCA Level works perfect now. Thanks for the quick fix. I like the "Random" button as I'm getting lots of different spacey sounds. Btw I keep the menu for the "VCA Level" in view on the UB-1 Micro b/c the "Random" button might render a very low volume level. Not saying to fix cause its the whole point of random but sometimes you can't hear the new patch cause the volume is too low. I have to try your Pro VS editor next and I have a JT4000M on order.

    3. I could set the VCA so it never goes below, say 20%, but like you say, it wouldn't then be random. Maybe it's easier just to keep clicking the random button over and over :-)
