I'm building mine at the moment. The number of components and density is more than I anticipated, but we're getting there. It makes you appreciate what goes into polyphonic analogue synths. No wonder the CS80 weighed tons (and then stopped working). The construction manual Jason Lane wrote is excellent. I like your wooden case, I'm going to do laser-cut black acrylic, but would really prefer wood.
Hey SD! Sorry I completely missed your post! Honestly, if it interests you, you should totally try making a case from wood: all you need is a saw, something to measure it with and some wood glue. Oh and the wood obviously. But apart from that it's pretty simple - if I can do it anybody can. Cheers!
