After building an amp for our house record player, you could only play-back record with an annoyingly loud hum; a grounding problem, in that it wasn't grounded from the player to the amp.
A quick search online found someone else who'd had the exact same problem;

It was also a good time to clean out some of the 30 year old dust that had accumulated.

ReplyDeleteI have the same Technics SL d-30 silver model, and I have the same problems with humming noise. I did the grounding the same way you explained here, connecting the ground wire to the phono preamp Behringer PP 400 ground point but the humm is still there..not as loud as it was before... can you please help me with an advice how to solve this issue?

Hmm I can't think why really. It would be worth trying another plug socket just so you can rule that out
